The new 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback has had its unveiling and will be having its debut at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. Donning a green guise and longer wheelbase, the example that Audi is using to tout the new model is as gorgeous on the outside as its specs are.
Powering the ’19 RS 5 Sportback is a twin-turbo 2.9-Liter V6 that generates 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque that’s available from 1,900 to 5,000 rpm. A 0 to 60 mph launch can be accomplished in under four seconds, a feat that’s not easy for a five-door car. Audi also notes that it has a top track speed of 155 mph that can be increased to 174 mph with the optional Dynamic package.
“The Audi RS 5 Sportback is more than just an international trade fair novelty – it offers something new to our customers. Our innovative interpretation of a five-door high-performance coupé has neither predecessor models, nor a direct competitor,” says Michael-Julius Renz, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “The new Audi RS 5 Sportback will carry the RS genes out onto the road.”
Audi will be offering the new 2019 RS 5 Sportback in the second half of 2018 and will be available in the United States.
