When Hennessey Performance set out with the Venom GT Feb. 14 to break the record for the world’s fastest production car, they didn’t just try to break a record. They set out to make history.
After the Venom GT came to a halt at the end of the runway at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and the top speed of 270 mph was announced, it was a very emotional moment. All of John Hennessey and team’s work on the Venom GT had come to fruition, and the countless hours invested began to pay off.
Breaking Barriers, a series presented by Pennzoil, was on hand before, during and after the run to capture the entirety of the event. Be sure to watch the video above, uploaded to YouTube on May 8, to witness a moment in automotive history.
